Dutch Lake, located at Clearwater, British Columbia, plays host to my husband’s family reunion every second year. The lake is as warm as a cool bath, it has turtles and geese, is easy enough to swim from end to end for some, and nice to float on all day long on hot days.
Farmer’s Market
Clearwater hosts a weekly farmer’s market, as most small towns do, and this one does not disappoint. In addition to fresh fruit and veggies, there are hand carved items, jewelry, artwork, honey and additionally a pancake breakfast for a reasonable price. This year, though, it seemed a bit smaller than year’s past and I hope that that is not a winding-down trend. Stick around on a Saturday, get some extra fresh, local food, and visit with the friendly people of the area.
